WHO
IS RELEASED TIME EDUCATION FOR?
Released Time Education (“RTE”) is for public school students released from public school classes during the public school day for off-campus studies, including religious education studies.
WHAT
IS RELEASED TIME EDUCATION ?
Released Time Bible Education (“RTBE”) is the only constitutionally permissible means by which public school students, with parental permission, may study the Bible devotionally as well as academically during the public school day.
WHEN
IS RELEASED TIME EDUCATION HELD?
RTBE classes are held during public school hours off the public school campus. With parental permission, public school students can choose off-campus Bible classes as an elective to fit into their school day.
WHERE
IS RELEASED TIME EDUCATION HELD?
RTBE classes are held off campus, typically at a local church or community hall. If the classroom is not within walking distance, transportation is arranged by the RTBE program.
HOW
CAN I/MY CHILD GET INVOLVED?
You can get involved by praying for the students, volunteers, and staff who are attending, teaching, and supporting RTBE classes, and for favor for RTBE classes with Alabama school officials. Your public school student can get involved by checking our programs for open or upcoming class enrollment; contact us if you don’t see your school listed.
